Dear Thweatt Family, Psalm 116 I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.(1,2) Then I called on the name of the Lord: "O Lord, save me!" The Lord is gracious and righteous, our God is full of compassion.(4,5)
We are praying for you day and night, that you would know his peace and feel his comfort and strength- In His Love, Tom and Beth

Lynette & James, I have to share with you how God has used you to minister to me recently. Our family went to Snowmass for Spring Break, and on the first run on the first day, I fell and tore up my knee. After Shelby got me settled back in our hotel room, with ice, pain meds and a big brace on my leg, he left to ski with the kids. As soon as the door closed I started crying (in pain and pity) ... feeling sorry for myself. The first prayer I uttered was "Why, Lord?... Why did this have to happen?" He immediately brought 2 clear images to my mind - your family and the Moock family (whose 5-yr-old has been very ill). He reminded me of your amazing faith and His faithfulness to you. I then asked Him for forgiveness for complaining and worrying about such a minor thing as a knee; and instead I thanked Him for the good I knew He would bring. For the rest of the trip, anytime that I felt discouraged, God brought you to my mind and it inspired me to pray and claim Scripture. I also began praying that you would not be plagued with the question of "Why?" I really believe it is one of Satan's tools to keep us in a pit of despair. So I'm writing to thank you for your example of faith, strength, endurance and hope, and for sharing your journey so honestly with all of us. Let's all keep claiming what Jesus said, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9. God bless you and sweet Sydney. Love, Nell

I am praying and asking that God protect you and James from the obvious fear that comes with the illness of a child but also that you are able to face whatever comes with understanding and joy because it is our Father that knows what is best for us and those around us. Take care and I love you, Suzy B.

Lynette and James, As we continue to pray for your family and for Sydney's healing, we are more convinced than ever that God is a rewarder of those who seek Him; and that He will not withhold any good thing from those who walk uprightly.

Lynette, The Lord has trusted you all with more than most of us could bear. To see how you lean into Him and seek Him in times of such suffering has mentored us all. Marcee assured me that His Word brings you comfort. I pray these verses will be an encouragement to you. 3) O send out Thy light and Thy truth, let them guide me;let them bring me to Thy holy hill' and to Thy dwelling places. 4)Then I will go to the alter of God,to God my exceeding joy;and upon the lyre I shall praise Thee O God, my God. 5)Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God, Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him, The help of my contenance and my God. Psalm 43
Although I had not spoken to Marcee recently and I had no idea so much was going on, I have thought of you all even more this past week...God is stirring our hearts to pray! Much love, Susan

Lynette, I have been strongly struck this week by what a privilege it has been to pray for you, with you this year. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Thank you for taking the time to write your thoughts, fears, prayers, joys, hopes, faith. You cannot begin to know how much you and Sydney have ministered to us this year in our own journeys of trying so hard to keep our eyes on Jesus and trust Him in all things. Thank you. Debby

As I was thinking and praying for you this morning, my heart is continually drawn back to a simple verse in Exodus. As Moses was leading the people out of Egypt, he unwaveringly encouraged them: "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverane the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again."
... and then the simple truth: "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." Exodus 14:14
What a promise - we need only be still. And what a powerful warrior who is on our side. The only all-powerful and always victorious watchguard we could ever desire.
As the Israelites anxiously awaited what they envisioned to be certain death and/or terrorizing enslavement (exactly what the world's wisdom would convince them of) ... God reassured them of His plan, His presence, His power. His admonition probably sounded ridiculous ... "Be still" ... let me fight for you, don't be afraid. He really did have them covered in the most outrageous and mind-boggling way!
How comforting that our Lord never changes. That his promises are the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Your courage as you battel the unknown amazes me. I hope this small passage brings you great comfort today as He - The Lord Almighty - fights for Sydney.
Much Love!! -The Wymas

I'm so glad James and the boys have decided to stay with you and Sydney. These are the verses that I meant to send you earlier today. Prov. 4:26 Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Ps 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. Deut. 7:6 The Lord has chosen you to be his treasured possession. Remember you are loved and belong to the mighty God who is immutable, omnipotent, and tender in His compassion. love and prayers, Virginia
