You are an amazing family strengthened only by your faithful love for our precious Lord. This really is why we are here.....to be an example as God would have us to be to the world...to show our undying faith in Him. You certainly are doing that! I keep writing down the requests and try to be faithful to pray for the right answers everyday. Sydney is a strong and brave little girl. I know you are very proud of her. I look forward to meeting her on your return to Dallas. Until then, stay strong. You are an inspiration to all.

Dear Youngs, Well, we weren't promised an easy road, but we are to continually praise and glorify his name in all circumstances and you are doing as we are taught. We hope Sydney gets to go home soon. The Frys

I am grateful to you, Lynette and to you James, for these updates... for sharing your hearts so well, as you always do, but especially for the length and detail. I love reading about Sydney's courage (and yours) and I love reading about the details of God's provision for you.
Sharon and I continue to pray for you all and to share your joy and your burden! We love you!

Hi Lynette, I just read your latest entry with tears in my eyes. You are so strong and so full of courage! You said you feel disappointed and discouraged and that you are embarrassed by these feelings. I cannot tell you how to feel, but please don't be embarrassed!!! I think what you are experiencing is very, very real and very "normal" (is there such a thing?!). It sounds like you are disappointed/discouraged by the situation you are in, not by God. I think about you and Sydney all the time and you are both such an inspiration to me. Peace. Catherine

Lynette, James, Sydney, & boys,
I was encouraged by reading this recent update. Thank you for being such an amazing testimony of our Lord and His great faithfulness. You are an inspiration to so many of us to continually trust Jesus and rest in His promises. I know you are an encouragement to so many in the hospital, as well. I pray that you will continue to press on and keep your eyes only on our Savior. We will continue to be persistent in prayer with you. Much love, Tara Porter

I pressed send but was not quite finisned!
My last note in that journal I found was this:
The way out of the wilderness involves a total cleansing.
In light of Sydney's most current struggles I thought this was timely. May you all, while in this dry place, be daily refreshed by the Living water He provides and may you hunger and thirst for Him alone- Taste and see that the Lord is good. Pm 34:8
Love to you all, dear friends, Lee Ann

I am continuously inspired by your faith and your belief in the Father ALmighty. It is very obvious that you know who is in control and that when you sincerely know that, nothing is impossible thru HIM. Give sweet Sydney a hug from me and love to both of you. Love in CHrist, Suzy B.

James and Lynette, We think of and pray for you all w/out ceasing. I found something today while cleaning out a cabinet and thought of you all. It was an old journal entry of mine and written in response to having meditated on the Wilderness sufferings of God's chosen. I wrote:
Observations: The "wilderness" and complaining seem to go "hand-in- hand(Ex 16:2,3)
Even in the wilderness, God hears our our grumblings, answers our prayers and provides(Ex 16:9)
The wilderness is a place where we are stripped of all our trappings so that our dependence on Him & His provision becomes "the main thing".
It is a place where heart intentions are tested.
It is a place that may cause us to ask, "Is the Lord among us or not?"(Ex17:7)
God brings us to the wilderness to humble us & allow us to become "hungry" that we might understand that nothing feeds our soul like God alone-HE is the manna... bread of heaven(Deut.8:3)
Thanksgiving and the wilderness should should go hand-in-hand, for we serve a God who loves us so deeply and desires our dependence so fully, that He would craft a personal plan to turn our hearts toward Him- who am I, that He would love me this much?
The wilderness journey of God's design, is most richly experienced by our traveling prayerfully THROUGH it, not despairingly wishing our way OUT.
My prayer came from Is. 51:3 and I ask it of God again on your behalf-
Lord, please comfort me; you will comfort all my waste places. And my wilderness make like an Eden, and my desert like the garden of the Lord; that joy & gladness will be found in me; Thanksgiving, and the sound of a melody
