Lynette and James:
Again your words tear at my heart and makes my praying for a miracle even more demanding. God's promises are true, but not always to our immediate understanding. The plan for Sydney is BIG. We have already seen God work such miracles.
You all are prayed for mightily.

Kj

Dear James, Lynette and Sydney,

I am so sorry that Sydney continues to have pain, but I still believe God has a plan for her. I cannot express in words the benefit I receive from reading the updates that the two of you send in your website. During such difficult times it is only natural to get discouraged at times. When I get discouraged I always think about a very old song that says:

When you hear the thunder booming, when you see the lighting flash, When the castles you have built have all fallen with a crash, And when everything about you has all crumbled to decay, If you'll just start right in praying, you can pray the clouds away.

When old Satan keeps tormenting, telling you a lot of lies, Then again, it seems the shadows come to veil your sunny skies; When he laughs at all your weakness, and he mocks you as you pray, Once again just start in praying and you'll pray the clouds away.

When the enemy keeps whispering that the Lord's forgotten you, When the poor-farm and its terrors keep appearing on the view, Just remember dear old David, that from youth to age he said, "I've not seen the just forsaken, nor God's children begging bread."

Pray the clouds away, the dreary clouds so dark and gray, Pray unto the Lord, believe the promise of His word; Clouds are like the snow, when shines the sun they all must go, Pray, my brother pray and you will pray the clouds away.

Please continue looking to Christ, our GREAT PHYSICIAN. In Hebrew 12:2, the writer says: "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;" In Psalms 55:17 David said: "Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice."

May God bless you and encourage your family during this difficult time in Sydney's life. Don't give up GÇô God can heal, even when the doctors may give up.

Janice and I pray often for all of you.

Mark Bailey

Lynette & James: I was in Dallas this past weekend and thought of you all the entire time I was there. I spoke with Susan and she kept me updated as to your web site. I check it about three times a day always hoping for a good report. I enter this Christmas season so joyful that Sydney is here and in such a wonderful medical facility. I have great hope. I pray for the donor and for you all every day. I know that this makes Christmas a challenge for you all but I can't think of a more fun and joyous time of the year for children. You mention that Sydney doesn't give up and I think the timing on her greatest struggle is truly the Lord's doing. Who can consider giving up when we are reminded daily of the Christ Child's coming? I love you all and will keep praying on my knees for each of you.
Love, Starr

May God bless you everyday with a peace that is never ending. What you are going through is like hell on earth. But have faith and...
"Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:7-11

James,

As I read your note today, as a father I cannot imagine your hurt as you watch your little girl in such pain. Know that I am praying for you daily as are many, many other fathers. Even more importantly, know that Jesus is petitioning his Father on behalf of Sydney who is one of his own. God bless you my brother.

Mark.

Dear Sydney, James, Lynette and family,

I pray that Jesus will bless you all in a special way; that He would give you eyes of faith to see that He is a great king who serves us, to see His humility and His majesty, to see His suffering and His omnipotence and to see His humanity and His deity.

How marvelous it is that Jesus is our brother and our high priest!

Hebrews 2:10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings. 11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, 12 saying, "I WILL PROCLAIM YOUR NAME TO MY BRETHREN, IN THE MIDST OF THE CONGREGATION I WILL SING YOUR PRAISE." 13 And again, "I WILL PUT MY TRUST IN HIM." And again, "BEHOLD, I AND THE CHILDREN WHOM GOD HAS GIVEN ME." 14 Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. 16 For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham. 17 Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.

We are lifting up to God the requests that you have stated, and we are asking for God to shower you with His grace in all things, especially in regard to the pain and the illness. We love you. May His grace be sufficient for you.

May the Lord continue to be glorified in the midst of all this pain and suffering. I also pray you will feel the uplifting presence of a host of prayers being released on your behalf. Although my heart is heavy...I KNOW the Good Shepherd---wherever He leads I'll go. We stand with you in prayer.

Dear James, Lynette and Family,
I am weeping over your most recent writings, wishing that God would grant Sydney some vacation from the pain she is experiencing. I canot possibly know the pain she must be going through, but her strenght continues to amaze me. I find I am now waking up several times a night and praying for her to not have the pain, for all to be well. I admire your strenght and courage through all of this. Your friends and family are all in constant contact and praying for your family and Sydney. I have asked people at my office to add Sydney to their prayer list, so many that don't know her are praying for her now. Thank you for writing to all of us in your time of grief, it is so appreciated. I will be constantly thinking about you as you continue on this journey and hope that along the way good news will prevail over the discouraging news. My love to all, especially Sydney, Patty

We are praying for Sydney daily and fasting for her too with the Providence family.

We have a 5th grade boy, Kyle, at PCS and our girls, Grace and Heather are in high school. We are good friends with the Bryans.

I heard about Sydney from my sister, Shirley Mechem. There are a group of us praying for her here in Southern CA along with one in Northern CA, one in South Carolina, and one in TX (along with your many friends and family). Went to a dinner last night and heard about a man who was told just before Christmas last year that he only had 4-6 months to live due to an aggressive cancer. One year later, his cancer is almost gone and his prognosis is excellent! I pray that this happens for Sydney too!
