Dear Lynette and Sydney and family, As i was praying for you, i remembered this verse for Sydney " Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow (shelter) of your wings." Psalm 17:8 When we were on a Providence field trip years ago, at the Heard Nature Center, the lady giving the presentation had an incredibly regal and noble looking red hawk perched on her gloved hand. At one point there was a loud noise, which startled him, and his wings went up protectively around the lady's face. His gaze was so fierce, his wings so strongly in place, that nothing would have dared come closer. It was a powerful visual of being in "the shelter of his wings". i wish i had a photo to show you, but we were all too awestruck at the moment, and nearly afraid to breathe or move. I love the way God expresses Himself to us through His creation. Thank you for sharing your faith and journey with us. We are deeply moved, and are praying for you. "Wondrously show thy steadfast love, O Savior of those who seek refuge from their adversaries at thy right hand." Ps. 17:7 ( rsv) "Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him. He alone is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge." Love, nancy

I have been in the midst of transitioning from one job to another and just getting to catch up.
You mentioned the valley of the shadow of death in your letter dated 10/4/06, just remember that to have a shadow there must be light behind it. That light is the True Light of the World - the Lord Jesus. He will see each of you through this trial.
Praying that no hand will touch Syndey that has not already been touched by the Lord. May you all find healing and peace during this transplant period.
With Christ's love and mine, Cynthia G. Gammill Syndey's 3 year old BSF Children's leader

Dear Sydney, Your Grandmother Sydney gave me one of your purple bracelets and I wear it all the time. When people ask me about it I tell them that I wear it for a very special little girl and now they pray for you too. Each day John and I say Psalm 23 with the thought of you in our hearts.
Now we hear that you are flying back to New York City on Wednesday. We want you and your parents to know that we will be with you in spirit. We will pray for you each and every day that when you return to Texas you will be completely healthy again. May the Lord bless you and your wonderful family.
Love and prayers,Mary Dell & John

Hi Sydney, We were in a waiting room, one day last week, waiting our turn when a nice woman came up to Edd and asked him about the bracelet he was wearing. He explained to her that it helped to remind him to pray for you. She told us a good story. When her son was six years old, he was diagoised with leukemia. He had a bone marrow transplant. He is now eight years old, healthy and feels great. I really enjoyed hearing that story, thought you might too. You are an adorable little girl, who we pray for often. Lynette and James, Thank you for the updates. They inspire many, mean so much to us. We are proud of both of you and your wonderful children. With prayers and much love, A Jeane

James and Lynette: Remember that Psalm 23 says He will lead us "THROUGH" not "to" the valley of the shadow of death. A minister I heard speak on this recently interprets that Psalm not a Psalm of death but the valley representing any trial. He leads us THROUGH the valley to the "table" which is a term for a flat mountain with rich, lush pastures which was the best pasture land during Bible times...rather than a banquet table. His rod and staff (Word and Spirit) will continue to comfort you along your journey. Grace and peace, Kaky Little

Hi sweet Thweatt Family ...
I was searching through Isaiah this morning looking for a passage (that I never found), but, as always in this book, was overwhelmed by the countless examples of God's control. He is in control of everything. I also saw so many encouraging words that became prayers for you. Here are just a few:
"The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." (Isaiah 58:11)
"Since ancient times no one has ehard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him." (Isaiah 64:2)
"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailling love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,' says the Lord, who has compassion on you." (Isaiah 54:10)
"Then you will know that I am Lord; those who hope in me will not be disappointed." (Isaiah 49: 23)
"I am he; I am the first and I am the last. My own hand laid the foundations of the earth and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I summon them they all stand up together... {then later in this passage, referring to the his complete provision for the Israelites}... They did not thirst when he led them throught the deserts; he made water flow for them from the rock; he split the rock and water gushed out." (Isaiah 48:12-13, 21)
There are so many promises and examples of His sufficient provision in the book. We do pray that as you head to a new city and new doctors that His path will be clear to you and that you can rest in the Creator who has you in the palm of His hand.... that He will daily "split" rocks and living water will flow. That his peace will flow like a river (always moving, never stopping) and your righteousness will be like the waves of the sea (Isaiah 48:18).
We love you and daily present you to Him, as so many do. How wonderful to know that He holds these prayers in golden bowls (Rev. 5:8), before His throne, never to be forgotten, always to be heard.
