I will continue to remember each of your special needs in my prayers. Your daily sacrifices (Lynette with Sydney, James with the rest of the family, Sydney with illness, Brothers with life out of the norm) and that it will be valiantly energized and rewarded by God. He never forgets his faithful servants! You may not have the same kind of quiet time with the Lord, however, every minute of sacrifice can be an open prayer with God. Prayer and devotion in times of trial become more of a "trust" time: trusting God's promises, relying on the wisdom of your past walks with God, clinging to the Holy Scriptures imbedded in the memory logs of your mind, trusting in the wisdom and support of other Christians. My father is an army war veteran. His stories of living a Christian life in the midst of war are very practical. Stuck in trenches and mud and rain in Korea for days and days, talking with army chaplains about making and finding time to be with God were trying to say the least. The things that the army chaplains conveyed to him and he shared with us growing up, was that your devotion and prayer takes a different form in times of trial or extreme circumstance. I will pray that you will find a new way, accept it, and allow God to renew your spirit in it. My favorite prayer in urgent trial moments is: God, help me to do more than I think I can do for your Name's sake.
May God bless you for your faithful, loving service,
Mary

I'm so happy that Sydney is on her way to recovery. Thanks so much for the sweet treats you left us for Valentine's Day. We all enjoyed them very much. I pray that every precious day brings you closer to going home. =) Keep me update on her progress. I miss seeing Sydney everyday... I miss her teasing me about my small eyes. =)
God Bless..

Thank you all so much for your words of encouragement. In response to Becky's e-mail asking if I have someone here to help me. The answer is YES! My sister Marcee and sister-in-law Becky are here waiting to serve. They take care of the laundry and go to the store for me and any other errand I may need. Sydney is beginning to want visitors again and they can help with her too, now. I am so blessed to have so many people willing to serve me. My family and friends at home are constantly serving also. I don't know what I would do without all of you. THank you, LOVE, LYNETTE

Dearest Lynette & James. Thank you for the latest update which we are so grateful to read. The strength, courage and faith you have shown and continue to show has touched us to the depths of our hearts. Sydney's recovery has been the greatest of blessings. The Lord truly hears our prayers. We are so anxious to welcome you back home to Dallas. Much love, Aileen & Jack

Sweet Lynette and all,
Praise God for the wondrous work He continues to do through the life of Sydney! "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings of good things!" "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart - that is, the word of faith." Romans 10: 8, 15a

What moments you are experiencing His perfect provision, protection and power. I praise God for even these exhausting days you are having with your daughter, though so hard, but being able to spend so precious a time together. For while life as we know it is busy and full, the fullest times are getting to care so intimately for those you love.

There's a special song I love, written and sung by Chris Rice, called The Power of a Moment, that points to, I believe, what Syndey's life looks like:

"What am I gonna be when I grow up? How am i gonna make my mark in history? What are they gonna write about me when I'm gone?....seems to me that right now's the only thing that really matters...
"You know the number of my days,
So come paint Your picture on the canvas of my head, and
Come write Your wisdom on my heart,
And teach me the Power of a Moment."

What a great picture of this time of both trust and affliction, knowing the outcome is God's and His purposes are our focus, to make each moment matter as we live out His glory here on earth. This little Sydney has been a vessel that God has used to point us to trust God and to live out each day as He has given us for Him.

Lynette, I can honestly feel your weariness. Rest is something God wants for us. So, could you seek to find someone who could sit quietly by Sydney and allow you to take a nap every day or so?

Psalms 73:25 - 28
"Whom have I in heaven but Thee? And besides Thee, I desire nothing on earth. My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever...

I am thankful for your words, Jim and Lynette, and for being an instrument of God for His glory. I will continue to pray without ceasing for you all.

Psalms 68:19 - 20a
"Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, The God who is our salvation. God who is a God of deliverances".

May you find rest in the Shadow of His wings.
Love,
becky

I am traveling for business this week. It is great to hear Sydney is out of the hospital and being a kid again. I am praying for both Lynette's energy and Sydney's energy and health to become stronger each day.

Sydney is the palm of His hand as well as Lynette and the rest of the family - each one of you has His arms folded around you.

Take care. Come home soon!!!

With Christ's love and mine,
Cynthia G. Gammill
