The 23rd Psalm

The Lord is my Shepherd-
That's Relationship!
I shall not want-
That's Supply!
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures- That's Rest!
He leadeth me beside still waters- That's Refreshment!
He restoreth my soul- That's Healing!
He leadeth me in the path of rightousness- That's Guidance!
For his name sake- That's Purpose!
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death- That's Testing!
I will fear no evil- That's Protection!
For thou art with me- That's Faithfulness!
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me- That's Discipline!
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies- That's Hope!
Thou anointest my head with oil- That's Consecration!
My cup runneth over- That's Abundance!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life- That's Blessing!
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord- That's Security!
Forever- That's Eternity!

Sydney and Thweatt Family,
We have been reading through the latest news and hearing through school about you. We are praying for you Sydney and your family. Continue to trust in the Lord and remember Jer 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, Plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

This verse keeps me moving everyday, everytime I think of Sydney I think of this verse. There must be a purpose in all this turmoil and one day God will let you know! Just remember this is all part of His perfect plan for Sydney and your family!!!

Psalm 20

1May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high!
2May He send you help from the sanctuary
And support you from Zion!
3May He remember all your meal offerings
And find your burnt offering acceptable! Selah.
4May He grant you your heart's desire
And fulfill all your counsel!
5We will sing for joy over your victory,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners
May the LORD fulfill all your petitions.
6Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed;
He will answer him from His holy heaven
With the saving strength of His right hand.
7Some boast in chariots and some in horses,
But we will boast in the name of the LORD, our God.
8They have bowed down and fallen,
But we have risen and stood upright.
9Save, O LORD;
May the King answer us in the day we call.
Lynette, we are calling out to the Lord on Sydney's behalf. God is faithful and He is the only one that has absolute authority over all things. Lean hard into the arms of God and rest in Him. We love you all.

James, Lynette and Sydney -
We continue to pray fervently for you. Every child in fifth grade at Covenant is lifting Sydney up in prayer daily. Even though the circumstances look hard, we have been here before and have seen the Lord work miraculously. David said in Psalm 103
Praise the LORD, O my soul;
all my inmost being, praise
his holy name.
Praise the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his
benefits.
He forgives all my sins,
and heals all my diseases;

Ps. 103:1-3

So, we are praising His holy name and beseeching Him strongly for Sydney's healing and Lynette's perseverance, fatigue, and encouragement. Your transparent thoughts and requests for prayer have encouraged us to persevere in prayer and believe God for the best. He is using YOU everyday here in Dallas.

Walking and praying with you!
Kelley and Casey

Dear Thweatt's GÇô

Sydney continues to be in my thoughts and prayers throughout each day. My parents ask me every week has she is doing. They are also praying for her too. I am sad to hear about this recent turn of events but I remember what James first wrote last May. - when the Lord Jesus promises we are going to the other side, we are going to the other side - that continues to give me hope and to not give up on praying for a miraculous healing in Sydney's precious body. I hope it is what you are hang on to also.

We miss seeing you and Sydney in BSF. Even though Sydney graduated from the Theologian class last year (that is what we Children Leaders called the 5-6 year old class since they have been in BSF since the age of 2 and can teach us, the leaders). In BSF this week we are studying Romans 15:14- 33. Paul's ambition was to share the gospel with others who have not heard about Christ. This past week as I prepared my Children's lesson for the 2-3 year olds, I thought many times of when Sydney was in Beth Brink's and my 3 year old BSF Children class how she liked hearing the gospel. I had 2 visually I used that she liked - Clorox bleach in a clear jar and food coloring and the lock and key. You probably remember the days she came home with food coloring stained fingers. With the Clorox Bleach every child named a sin (Sin is anything we say, do or think that is displeasing to God. It is doing things our way and not God's way) then squeeze some dark food coloring in the jar with the clorox bleach. Soon the bleach in the jar became black. Then I would tell them that Jesus shed His blood on the cross for our sins. I would add a drop of red food coloring and lightly swirl as we sang one of our BSF Children hymn. The bleach would take away all the sin. Her eyes would get wide. But I think her favorite was the Lock and Key. The Lock represented heaven. Each child was given a key. I have 20 old keys with a tag that listed the good things we do to earn God's acceptance so we can go to heaven - like sharing our toys, be a friend to someone who does not have a friend, helping Mommy and Daddy, picking up our toys, going to church, praying for others, sharing our food and clothing with someone who has little, caring for our pets, etcGǪ Each child would put their key into the lock but it would not turn the lock to GǣHeavenGǥ. We would sayGǥ these are all good things that God wants us to do but they cannot get us into heaven. Only believing in Jesus can get us to heaven.Gǥ Then the key with Jesus' name our adult volunteer had. I ask if the Jesus key would open our lock. Everyone would say GǣYesGǥ. Then the key was placed in the lock and the lock would open. She would ask later if she could try the lock with the Jesus key and she did. I will do both this Wednesday in honor of Sydney. Hopefully if Sydney is strong enough you can find these items and she can show you, the nurses and doctors how it works as she shares the gospel to those in New York who need to hear it.

Paul ends this section of Romans with stating God is the God of peace. Paul writes that several times in his letters (Hebrew 13:20, Philippians 4:9, Romans 16:20 and here in Romans 15:33). Paul faced many hardships and persecutions during his ministry but God was always there to give him peace to face the next challenge. My prayer is for God's peace to reign in each of your hearts as you once again face the storm.

Lynette GÇô Have a blessed Mother's Day. You are such an inspiration in your undying love for your Sydney, your family and the Lord. To close I am borrowing part of one of Neatice's biblical principals last week in lecture GÇô Hopes stabilizes and energizes us to accept others. May His hope stabilize and energize you as you accept this new challenge with the Lord Jesus by your side.

With Christ's love and mine,
Cynthia

Lynette, Sydney, and family,

I am continuing to lift you all up in prayer. My class is so faithful to do the same. I wish you could have heard Kendall Kailgler's prayer for you this morning. Along with some other sweet things, she asked that you would keep trusting the Lord. This is my prayer for you, too. Wishing I could do more, but knowing that prayer is the most powerful weapon we have.
Trusting Him Alone,
Tara Porter and Class 3B
We love you!

Keep your head up.
