Dear Sydney,
Timothy and I enjoy reading your newsletters and we love praying for you. We lift you up constantly to the LORD for He can do all things! One of my favorite Psalms is Psalms 27. I love all the verses. The last two verses are ones that I placed on my kitchen window so that I would see it everytime I did the dishes. It says "I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD. Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD!"
So Timothy and I are claiming all that goodness that the LORD has for YOU in this land of the living. We are waiting with our faces turned up toward Him, and expecting the great things that He has for YOU!

I hurt my back and have been in the hospital. When it gets better and I can drive, then Timothy and I will bring you a basket of fun things just for you. We hope to see you soon!
We love you,
Ms. Darby and Timothy

Lynette and James, What a blessing it is to read your updates. It helps us know how to pray and lifts our faith to know how the Lord is being glorified throughout this trial. I found this verse this morning and the Lord prompted me to send it on to you. You are loved and thought of often! We are praying. "The Lord also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble, and those who know Thy name will put their trust in Thee; for Thou, O Lord, hast not forsaken those who seek Thee." (NASB Ps.9:9-10) With love and hugs, The Mighells

Lynrtte and James, we have kept up wit your little angels progress through Marcee and Grant. Words seem so inadequate to express the sorrow that we feel for the two of you, Sydney and you boys. We are praying that the Holy Spirit-as promised will provide all your needs-and cover you with the fruits of the spirit. We have all heard the promise that the Lord won't ever give us more than we can handle and that all things work together for good for those that love him-I am praying that your faith will bring you into a full knowledge of these promises and that the comfort of the Lord will surround you on the journey. If there is anything we can do for you-please let me know. We will pray every day for a complete healing and for the rest of her treatment to be successful and easy on her precious body. We love you all. Janis and Sam Brous

Aileen Pratt is my dearest friend and I have met your mother, Sydney. Aileen shared with me young Sydney's illness and I want you to know that I will keep all of you in my prayers on Saturday mornings when I go to synagogue. Please take hope in knowing that the 14 year old son of very close family friends just underwent a bone-marrow transplant at Johns Hopkins and, thank God, is doing very well. Also, one of my good friends here, now aged 45, had a bone marrow transplant when she was 28 and is doing great. I wish Sydney a speedy and complete recovery and wish you, her parents, much strength in getting through a difficult time.

We pray for you all daily. It amazes me the way our kids lift up Sydney... with full and complete confidence in God and what he can do, knowing that HE has great things in store for her.

I can't help but long for that innocent trust that unwaveringly rests in His power. When Sally was 6 months old, we sat where you are sitting for only a brief, but what seemed like a long, 10 days. She had a rare absess on her tonsil that was hard to diagnose and made her very sick. I remember the anxiety Jon & I felt (as well as exhastion!) -- trusting the doctors, making sure we had the right approach to her treatment, making sure the other kids were taken care of, the list goes on... Yet we knew that God, more times than any other commandment, tell us "do not fear" ... to not be anxious.

My prayer for you today is that your heart can be victorious in this wonderful admonishment... That the words that follow this command, almost every time it is given, can give you the strength and courage to rest in his directive -- "For the Lord, YOUR GOD, is with you wherever you go." Then to think about what that means... who is saying these words... who is actually at your side. David in Psalm 77, after a night of struggling, sleepless, troubled, finds great comfort in remembering who it is that made such a promise:

"Then I thought, 'To this I will appeal: the years of the right hand of the Most High.' I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds. " ... and David does. He remembers the deeds and the power that exceeds everything we know.

It is that power who is saying to you ... to your family ... to your sweet Sydney, "I am with you." May your day be filled with thoughts and rememberances of the amazing true works of the Lord ... from never leaving Adam & Eve even after they deserted him, to meticulously supplying provisions and and a boat to save his creation, to unexplainably parting an enormous body of water so his people could walk behind him on dry ground, to the countless victories promised and delivered, to all the prophesies given and fulfilled, to the ultimate sacrifice followed by a resurrected body that never died again ... It is that God who knows, loves and has seen every hair that has fallen off a beautiful little head, and that promises victory and peace that really do transcend any understanding.

We love you and will keep you in our daily prayers.

James, Lynette, Sydney and family, we will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers. Laura called today and told us about Sydney. I read that you are coming up here to Memorial Sloan Kettering. We are right outside of Manhattan, so let me know if we can help out in any way. We have plenty of room, if anyone needs a place to stay. We would love to help! Take Care and God Bless you all.
