I'm continually inspired by all of your love and devotion to each other and your constant search for the Divine Truth--God does give you strength and answers--your friend--Jody

I'm sitting here at my desk, my eyes filled with tears after reading today's update. I'm nervous about showing Daron the email. I have never seen him cry as much as I have since Sydney became ill. He sheds tears not only for Sydney, but for James as well. He respects and adores his friendship with James. If Daron could take away some of James, Sydney's and your pain Lynette, he would be there to do so in a minute. We send our love, hope, and prayers to you. Valerie and Daron

Lynette wrote: "We realize it is difficult for you to be part of this."
Oh precious Lynette, I love you BUT how VERY wrong you are on this point! There is NOT ONE person alive anywhere in the world who knows the name of Sydney Thweatt who does not count it a PRIVILEGE and BLESSING that you have opened yourselves to us and ALLOWED US TO BE A PART and STAND BESIDE YOU.
Let me help put this into prespective for you - like the times when you ACHE and feel TOTALLY HELPLESS to aid Sydney, so WE (those you have allowed to"be apart of this")FEEL ABOUT YOU and your Family.
Lynette you heart and mind are focused where they need to be so you cannot know how much all of this has BLESSED each and everyone of US as we have all drawn closer to GOD and matured in our relationship with our Lord and SAVIOUR Jesus Christ. It is NOT HARD nor DIFFICULT to stand with you. ACTUALLY it is an unspeakable HONOR and JOY and IT IS the VERY THING GOD has ASKED us to do. For as we "BEAR ONE ANOTHER'S BURDENS, SO WE FULFILL THE LAW OF CHRIST JESUS."(Gal.6:2)
Lynette said: "It would be so much easier for you go about your own business and not endure the pain with us."
Again, precious one that is where you are wrong for "we are all ONE BODY" - We are THE BODY of CHRIST JESUS and "what happens to one its His members, happens to all of us. "So our precious one, rest in the arms of HIS love which reach out to you, draw you near and HOLD YOU CLOSE, for WE "are HIS arms," and what we "do" is nothing compared with the joy of serving Christ. With all our collective hearts we say THANK YOU and GOD'S MULTIPLIED BLESSING BE UPON SYDNEY,YOU and JAMES for the honor to serve God through you. We LOVE YOU & continue to be your "Joshua," holding up your arms, until the VICTORY IS WON and we all cross over into the "Promised Land"

My devotional says this today:

As an eagle stirs up its nest, hovers over its young, spreading out its wings, taking them up, carrying them on its wings, so the Lord alone led him (Deuteronomy 32:11,12)

Out of our Nest:

Moses had never forgotten the metaphor of the eagle that the Lord had given him at Mount Sinai. "You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to Myself" (Exodus 19:4). Subsequently, during the wilderness wanderings, we suspect that every time Moses watched soaring eagles or observed how they cared for their eaglets, he thought of the Lord and how He was training His people.

In his final message to the people, Moses draws on his observations of the training of the eaglets to fly to remind the Israelites of the Lord's methods with them.

After an eaglet is born, it is totally dependent on the parent eagle for food. Like the eagle, the Lord had cared for His people. But eaglets will stay in the nest unless the eagle stirs up the nest and forces them to fly. If in their first efforts to fly they are in need of rescue, the eagle catches the eaglets on its wings.

The thrust of the metaphor is that the Lord stirs up our safe nest and pushes us out of our comfortable conformities. The Lord is constantly disturbing us, pressing us on to new challenges He has prepared for us.

This gives us a different perspective on change. Whenever new opportunities are given us, or problems and difficulties make new demands on us, or people around us trouble us, or even when our carefully constructed little world falls apart, we can be confident of this: The Lord will use the disturbance to help us on to a new stage of growth and new discoveries of His Delivering Power!

Lynette and James,

I picture you lifting Sydney on your wings, comforting her through her pain, your family comforting you and giving you strength for the day, and all of us out here praying for all of you to be held up by God's great eagle wings.

We are all growing in faith and love through your love of the Lord and steadfast faithfulness.

We love you, Susan, Kyle, Zach, Scott and Michelle

James and Lynette, My prayers are with you and Sydney. We are praying for deliverance for you from this cancer! This morning I read 1 Cor. 12:7 "Each person is given something to do that shows who God is." Clearly, He is using you to show His love and presence. I am always encouraged by your faithfulness and know that you must be an encouragement to other patients and families fighting this same battle. Continue to be strong - God is with you, this is His!

"That's what Immanuel means. the prophet Isaiah foretold Jesus' birth and said He would be called Immanuel nad Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. No longer would we walk through life alone with God watching us from a distance; Jesus' birth, life, death and resurrection eliminated the barrier of sin and death and brought God to us - and us to God. In our darkest hours, in our sadest moments, when fear and violence and loneliness seem to rule the planet, let us take comfort that we are not alone. Immanuel. God with us."

Dear Lynette, James and Sydney and boys...
We just wanted to say a simple, "I love you." Thank you for the latest update on the website so that we may pray specifically with you. James, you are a blessed husband, and you love your family well. Lynette, you are a wife of noble character....who can find one like you? Sydney, you are a miracle...showing the world how to run the race! Boys, you are to be appreciated for the love, patience, longsuffering and faithfulness shining out of your hearts. It is the fruit of the Spirit. We are specifically in agreement with you always. Love, The Fletcher's

Today we read w/the kids from Jermiah 10. It is such a beautiful testimony of God's strength & power ... so neat to be able to explain to the kids that false gods and the world's attempts to scare us are worthless and futile because we know "the only true God, ... the only living god, ... the King who rules forever". Then Jeremiah goes on to relay that it is God's (and God's alone) "wisdom and understanding" that sets the world in place.

I have to tell you that I have more than a lump in my throat, but almost a flood of tears as I read about Sydney's pain. I just can't imagine how you must be feeling. My heart goes out to you as you experience suffering that you can't fix.

Yet the words from Jeremiah, "wisdom and understanding" say so much. I can't imagine what you are going through, but God does like none other. Unlike you, or any of us, He could have stopped the pain His Son experienced ... He didn't have to endure the cries for help ... He didn't need any help from doctors or any wise men. It was all at His fingertips to begin and end, to allow and to heal... yet He endured for our sakes. And He, unlike any other, "understands" what you are feeling and the agony a parent goes through watching their child suffer.

Your faith is amazing... awe-inspiring. Just your faith alone is a testimonly to His Truth ... that He does what He said He will do. He is sustaining you. Thanks as always for your updates. We go to sleep praying for you and start the day praying for you.

Much love. -K

We continue to pray and stand in amazement at your faith. Thank you for sharing so honestly this incredible burden. I know of no words of encouragement sufficient for the need, so will have to leave that in God's hands - we continue to specifically pray for peace and comfort for Sydney, for grace endurance and a sense of God's touch for each of your family, wisdom and compassion for the doctors.

Dear Thweatts,

We are on our last week of shots for the baby but we still use that as a daily reminder to lift you all up! We saw the baby it is the size of a shrimp now and it was waving!
I keep listening to the hymn "It is well with my soul" and you always come to mind. Your unwavering faith and soundeness comes through in all your updates and I know it is well with your soul even in the pain and uncertainty and that is the greatest honor and testimony to your faith and God's greatness. We continue to be encouraged and only wish there was something we can do, and then we go back to our knees. Please know we are still praying her in Kentucky and thinking of you constantly and asking God to continue to bear you up and give you peace and strength.
Much love
James, Dawn and Bailey
