Your family is amazing. Your testimony is phenominal. Thank you for letting us catch a glimpse of your walk through the valley ... while keeping your eyes fixed on the mountain top. It is evident that God is with you. Love and continued prayers coming your way. Jan Moody

Dear James, Lynette and Family,
It was wonderful to read your latest email and yes, we are all thankful for family at this time of year. Our family is especially thankful for having you in our lives as we have learned so much over the last six months. We are thankful that Sydney is not in pain and that it is being managed; we are happy to know that you were able to share Thanksgiving with your sons and that you were all together; we are thankful that Sydney has been moved out of ICU and enjoying more freedom to move around and enjoy her brothers; we are thankful that God continues to share Sydney with all of us. Patience is an interesting concept and one that we are all learning to cope with. We have talked so much about you all during the holidays and our constant updates through family members brings us all hope and encouragement. Please know we continue to diligently pray for Sydney's recovery, for her to be healed and for the transplant to be successful. We are all at God's mercy and must totally trust his wisdom and plan. We miss all of you terribly and look forward to being together again. Our deepest love to all of you. Patty

I thought about all of you on Thanksgiving Day and what all I have to be thankful for. One of the things is that the Youngs were put next door to me. I found life long friends that have met many needs of mine since we met.We were raising our children and the support was fantastic!! Since that time there have still been instances that I have had to call on them for love and support. They have always been there for me and now they are there for all of you with their love of God and their love of family. God is good and knows our needs before we do. God bless all of you during this time of reflection,fear, sorrow,joy and thankfulness. Love to all, Suzy B.

In know you rest in all of the words of Isaiah 40 as God reminds the Israelites (and us!) just who He is ... lest we forget that He is the one who created the foundations of the earth, He is the one who set each star in the sky, He is the one who is in complete control ... But I just thought it was so neat that these words (below) at the end of the chapter are the ones memorized by Johnson and all the other 4th graders for grandparents' day. I have loved getting to remind our kids (even while we are praying for you) just what these words mean as Will has quoted them to us. I just love how the Lord kind of gets in their faces with the "Do you not know? Have you not heard?" ... Kind of "come on guys, think of who I am ... remember all I have done ... rest in the power of the only all-powerful One who loves you ... who has ALWAYS provided for you and rescued you." His ways are mysterious, yet not secret. He has promised us safety, love and security - even stamina ("But those who wait for the Lord's help find renewed stregth" ... are you ever a poster-family for this truth and provision!!! It must amaze everyone, even stangers, who comes in contact with you). His plans can never be thwarted. The Lord IS the Eternal God.

Thanks again for sharing what is going on. The Lord has burdened so many hearts with constant prayer for you & your whole family. How I praise God for the little warrior who has so faithfully walked the road God prepared for her. May He heal her quickly as He did King Hezekiah.

Isaiah 40:28-31 (Net Bible Version)
Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is an eternal God,
the creator of the whole earth.
He does not get tired or weary;
there is no limit to his wisdom.
He gives strength to those who are tired;
to the ones who lack power, he gives renewed energy.
Even youths get tired and weary;
even strong young men clumsily stumble.
But those who wait for the Lord's help find renewed strength;
they rise up as if they had eagles' wings,
they run without growing weary,
they walk without getting tired.

Dear Ones,
We continue to pray without ceasing. You all are amazing in your desire to rest in God's sustaining grace and peace.

Here is an Amy Carmichael poem a friend shared with me recently.

" Leave it to Me, child,
Leave it to Me.
Let slip the burden
Too heavy for thee.
That which I will,
My hand shall perform;
Fair are the lilies
that weather the storm."

We love you!! Karen Koop
