Lynette, James and Sydney,

God awakened me at 4 last night and placed you on my heart. I prayed that you would have strength and that he would comfort you through the night. Easter called me this week and we had a wonderful talk. What a blessing she is to you. We pray for you constantly as Sydney's picture scrolls through our screen saver on the home and work computers. We love you.

I've started and stopped writing you so many times. What can one say? I have this "mantra" that I repeat countless times daily; sometimes it's my prayer; most of the time it's the only thing that keeps me going; "Let Go and Let God".
Your words and prayers reach out to me, I reach back to you all. Always...I'm praying.
Love you Thweatts! Dru

Dear Lynette,

I think of you and Sydney each day. Today at our school we had "May Crowning" which is a special tribuite to Mary. I thought so much of you and how God does call on his mothers to be such special vehicles. I will not pretend to walk in your shoes but want you to know that we are praying in Kentucky in particular at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary, my children's school. Many hugs and kisses to Sydney, you and your whole family.

I'm praying that God will especially give you extra strength for the endurance. He knows your every thought and understands how physically exhausted you are but He has full control. Little Sydney, you will never know the full extent of all the faith and encouragement you mean to me and to everyone else that you are touching. We love you and are praying daily for the exact things that your dad lists on your website. With so many people bonding together, another miracle has to happen. Love and Prayers, Kj Jones

Praying that the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Your family comes to mind often and is lifted up.

We follow your journey, pray for your baby, and hope for God's grace and peace for your family. I am sure that many people read about Sydney and say, "I would give my life for that child's life," and I know that both of you would do so in a heartbeat. Although that is outside our power, it is not outside God's power. In fact that is the very thing He has done, given His life for us, that we might have eternal life through Him.

Hello Thweatt family,

I attempted to write you a few words of encouragement the other day, but I must admit that I felt that my words couldn't come close to being of any comfort relative to anything you face every day. Then, on the plane today, I was reminded of the words from Ephesians that you all shared with us on more than one occassion on your site...put on the full armor of God. It is an inspiration to me that Syndey is protected by the full armor of God, as is your entire family. All of you are a testimony to the full armor of God.

Dear Lynette,
I'm a college Kappa friend of Becky's and have been keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers for a year now. As I've watched your website, read the prayers and messages, and communicated with Becky, I have been blown away by the compassion and genuine outpouring of concern from the thousands of people you have touched with your story. You've probably heard of the "Six Degrees of Separation" theory with Kevin Bacon - well, I have to believe that most of the United States is now just Six Degrees of Separation from Sydney. Your willingness to share the road that has seen mountains and valleys this past year has touched so many and I can't even imagine all the lessons learned and lives changed. You and James will never understand the full impact of your transparency.
In our college group, Becky has always been the emotional and spiritual leader. She is truly amazing and absolutely hilarious. We've all heard about you over the years and now I feel like I somewhat know you. I can see how James found in you things he admired in his mother and sister. And from the things Becky has said about Sydney since her birth... well... she's got those good Thweatt qualities: Spunk (lots and lots), determination, passion, kindness, optimism, style, grace, and oh yes - intellect.
We will all continue to follow your family and know that what is happening in your life is important to us. We celebrate. We grieve. We care. A lot.
Continued best wishes and know that Sydney is constantly on our minds.

Lynette & James : I don't e-mail messages very often because I just don't know what to say that hasn't been said so much better by others. I know though that it is good to see that your friends are thinking and praying for you so I'm e-mailing my message. I have been praying for you all several times a day. I saw Karol Ann in Midland this past weekend and we both marveled at your faith and constance. Kelly's baby boy was born on Valentine's Day and Ray Riddle baptized him on Mother's Day. I thought of you often as I watched all the children and little Boldrick in the church that Lynette and I grew up in. The past few months have been very busy for all of us and when I think I can't hold my head above water for one more second I think of you both and your faith. I want you to know what an inspiration and example you are. We (the Beeville ladies) pray for all of your family every Wednesday night at my Bible study. Nancy, my Bible study leader, calls during the week and checks your web sight for her daily prayers. I'm sorry for not e-mailing more but I do want you both to know how very much you are thought of and loved in Beeville, Texas. May the peace of our Lord be with you.

Love,

Starr

sweet sydney and family, how i prayed and thought about all of you yesterday and how much i hope that you can feel the presence of our precious Jesus. all of you have clearly given your lives as a sacrifice to Him, allowing Him to encourage and strengthen countless people through your courage and faith. i believe as sure as i believe anything that he will "repay the years the locusts have eaten," and you will be blessed beyond what our hearts, minds and souls can comprehend. may His spirit fall fresh and full on all of you today.

Hi Lynette!
I have been thinking about you all weekend (Mother's Day) and you have been on my heart this morning. I can picture you and I pregnant several times together and several times simultaneously. You always made pregnancy seem effortless, with such grace. What a gift all our children are! I can not even begin to imagine the pain and torture that you are going through, and yet you still have so mach grace. I pray that you are feeling comforted today and that you, Sydney, James, and the boys are feeling God's immeasureable love! Please know that you are an inspiration to so many and that you are helping the rest of us make it through whatever struggles come our way.
Lots of Love,
Carolyn Thompson

Dear Sydney, Lynette, James and family,
We continue to pray for you all and are so often strengthened and amazed at your courage and faith as you deal with this trial.
The girls and I have frequently listened to this hymn on a children's tape and made it our prayer for you. It is based on Deut 33:25 "Your strength will equal your days"

"Day by day and with each passing moment, strength I find to meet my trials here; trusting in my Father's wise bestowment, I've no cause for worry of for fear. He whose heart is kind beyond all measure gives unto each day what he deems best --- lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure, mingling toil with peace and rest.

Every day the Lord himself is near me with a special mercy for each hour; all my cares he fain would bear, and cheer me , he whose name is Counselor and Pow'r. The protection of his child and treasure is a charge that on himself he laid; "as your days, your strength shall be in measure," the pledge to me he made.

Help me then in every tribulation so to trust your promises, O Lord, that I lose not faith's sweet consolation offered me within your holy Word. Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting, e'er to take, as from a Father's hand, one by one, the days, the moments fleeting, till I reach the promised land."
(C.S. Berg, 1865)

We pray that the Lord will continue to uphold and strenthen you and that you may rest in His Providence and Love.

Lynette - As we were reading our Scripture this morning with the kids, my thoughts were drawn to you as they often are during our readings and always at night during our prayer time.

I found these words in Zephaniah encouraging, even though they refer to the Lord's deliverance of Israel from their enemies His promise is so applicable to you and to all of us.

The Lord is the King of Israel.
He is with you.
You will never again be afraid that others will harm you.
The time is coming when people will say to Jerusalem, "Zion, don't be afraid. Don't give up.
The Lord you God is with you.
He is mighty enough to save you.
He will take great delight in you.
The quietness of his love will calm you down.
He will sing with joy becuase of you."
(Zephaniah 3:15b-17 NIrV)

Isn't that beautiful?! I've never really thought of the "quietness of his love" and how calming that acutally is. I think so often I want to have him shout and railroad in to save the day ... yet only God could have quiet love that comforts. I so pray that you can rest in these calm waters in the midst of chaos and confusion, knowing that your prayers are heard and held.

I love the picture in Revelation of the elders and 4 living creatures before the throne of God (the THRONE!) "holding golen bowls full of incence, which are the prayers of the saints" ... lest we think our prayer are not heard, are not saved, are not treasured ... they are in their place, in golden bowls before the alter - a sweet smell to the Lord. He is mighty and will always prevail and always hears our prayers and petitions.

We will continue in diligence to pray for you and Sydney - knowing that this trial will soon be over, praising God for all the lives that are being touched by you and your faithfulness.

Much love!! The Wymas

I have been following your gut-wrenching story about Sydney since last year. I can only imagine how hard this has been for you! Your faith is inspiring and you are often in my prayers although we've never met. I hope this note of encouragement brings at least a sliver of comfort for you!
