Dearest Thweatts,

We thought Sydney (well everyone) would be ripe for some humor. We found these fun fill-in-the-blank poems online; perhaps when she's feeling up to it, you can do them together. We've also pasted a funny poem at the end and hope this cheers you up!

Blessings, Stephanie, Sam, Bailey, and Preston

1.Yankee Doodle went to town
with his favorite blankey.
Every time he had to sneeze
he used it as a ___________.

2.Yankee Doodle flew through space
riding on a rocket.
He landed on the moon and brought
some cheese home in his _______.

3.Yankee Doodle went to town
riding on a monkey.
He had to take a shower quick,
because he smelled so _________.

"Melody Ring"
Melody Ring has a musical family.
A musical family has Melody Ring.
Her mother likes opera and symphony music,
and frequently joins in a chorus to sing.

But Melody Ring doesn't know how to sing.
She's unable to utter a hum or a chirp.
She opens her mouth with the best of intentions
but all she can manage to make is a "BURRRP!"

Her father is partial to country and western.
He plays his harmonica all through the day,
then strums on his banjo or pounds the piano;
there's hardly an instrument father can't play.

But Melody Ring doesn't play any instruments;
not an accordian, trumpet or flute.
She'll pick up a piccolo, planning to play,
but before she can blow it she'll let out a "TOOOOT!"

Her brother plays drums and electric guitar
and he jams with his friends in a rock-and-roll band.
He also spins turntables, scratching and rapping
and loves to play music his parents can't stand.

But Melody isn't as cool as her brother.
She can't spin a record. She can't even rap.
She picks up the microphone, ready to rock
but the best she can do is a "PHHHHHT" and a "BRAAAAP!"

Melody's parents are truly embarrassed.
They simply don't know what to say or to do.
And so they've decided to not say a word...
at least until next year, when Melody's two.

I pray and think of you all everyday. Sometimes I search for what to say when I pray, but I have the faith that Sydney will overcome her challenge.
God Bless!!!

Dear Sydney,

Last night Karisa, my 2.5 year old daughter, looked at your bracelet and said GǣSydneyGǥ. So I showed her your name and spelled it for her S-Y-D-N-E-Y. I then led Karisa in a prayer, and she prayed for you, GǣDear Jesus, please heal Sydney, Amen.Gǥ

Dear James and Lynette,

We are praying for strength when you are weak, energy when you are tired, peace when your soul is troubled, wisdom when you are confused, patience when you are impatient, comfort when you are distressed, and joy in the midst of sorrow. May God fill you with His Spirit that you might walk in His supernatural love. To God be all the glory through Jesus Christ!

Psalm 86:1 A Prayer of David. Incline Your ear, O LORD, and answer me; For I am afflicted and needy. 2 Preserve my soul, for I am a godly man; O You my God, save Your servant who trusts in You. 3 Be gracious to me, O Lord, For to You I cry all day long. 4 Make glad the soul of Your servant, For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. 5 For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon You. 6 Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; And give heed to the voice of my supplications! 7 In the day of my trouble I shall call upon You, For You will answer me. 8 There is no one like You among the gods, O Lord, Nor are there any works like Yours. 9 All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, And they shall glorify Your name. 10 For You are great and do wondrous deeds; You alone are God. 11 Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name. 12 I will give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And will glorify Your name forever. 13 For Your lovingkindness toward me is great, And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.

In the love of Christ,

The Son family

Every disappointment IS the ground for God to display his handiwork---and I am COUNTING ON HIM to amaze and astound us in a "beyond abundant" way!! None-the-less, may He continue to be your source of strength and your place of comfort&rest. What a beautiful reflection of Christ you continue to be, Lynette! *Libby

Our family remains faithful in prayer for Sydney. It is a beautiful sight to watch young children seek the Lord on another's behalf. Thank you for the priviledge we have in approching the throne of grace for Sydney. It is a lesson in trust, patience and deliverence. May the Lord continue to show Himself strong as you make His name known.

Love,
Gretchen Weir

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Psalm 62:1

Psalms 55:22 "Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee. He shall never suffer
the righteous to be moved."

I got this in an email from a friend and thought I would share it with you. We are praying for Sydney and all those who are treating her. We know that the webcam must be great. We have one through our Apple computer and would love to see if it would work. Send us your information and we will try to see if we can link up.

Love,

The Giles

Sydney you are an inspiration to the world- I know you through many, many of your friends, even though I have never met you face to face. You inspire me to remember the truth about God's grace and mercy, and I look forward to meeting you introducing you to my daughter Zoe. She would REALLY think you were the "cat's meow." God bless you and your mommy, daddy, your family and your doctors and nurses. You are divine and wonderful.

Dear Lynette and James,

Betsy Hardy alerted me today through my son, Clay, to what you are experiencing with your precious Sydney. My heart goes out to all of your family as you travel this difficult path. Your faith and strength are amazing. You honor God by your obedience and I know you will touch many lives for His kingdom. Please know that Cam and I will be praying for you in the days ahead. Dear Lynette,
I am in tears reading your latest entry ...the comforting image of you and Sydney both at peace is so encouraging. I can't tell you how your faith has ministered to me and my family. I keep thinking of this passage from Gen 50:19-20, "Joseph said to them, 'Don't be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.'" Won't it be amazing someday in heaven to see how many lives have been touched and SAVED by your family's witness?! Thank you, and may you continue to feel God's peace. Love, Nell
