Lynette & James: We are praying for Sydney and for your whole family. You are awesome servants of the kingdom of God!
Psalm 5:11b-12
11 b Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. 12 For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

Lynette, I realized today that it has been awhile since I have checked your website. Each day that I check and read the update, my heart breaks for your family. But, I know that God must be doing something powerful through this. I always find His hand in the midst of the most difficult times. Know that I am praying for Syndney today and for your family, that you would continue to stay strong! You are a testimony to all of us.

Nearly 20 years ago when my own child Andrew, was in the hospital day after day with doctors giving the daily odds of survival at 1 in 10 to keep false optimism at bay, there was little that could comfort me when I was away from his side and set apart from long suffering family and friends. My prayers had gone from ferverent to exhausted, my spirit was most certainly crying out for me because I was tapped, my cup was emptied and my God knew it.

All the lamentation I could do had been done, I was getting what we now know to be cluster headaches that would send me to the ER at 2:30 in the morning, and exhausted was an understatement, my mental state was as shot as my physical state, but I kept sending my prayers, even though I questioned God as to why Andrew had to go through all that he had to go through to survive on this planet. How pias was I at the time to even think I was qualified to raise a child, much less better than his maker?

Over three months passed, one hundred and twelve days to be exact before my baby boy could come home for the first time. There was no fanfare, no body to cheer and clap and throw palm leaves in our path on the way home. It was much like our savior's journey home. In fact, the whole trip, all the characters, all the folley and all the glory were all the same as they had been a couple of thousand years ago when God's baby boy was born into a land where Herod had ordered the death of all baby boys 2 and under and where being born in a manger by poor parents was the best welcome that could be afforded.

How do we cope with this kind of strain as Sydney goes through the ups and downs of recovery? It is beyond human being, it is totally divine intervention that enables us to continue day after day and maintain our faith in this God we cannot see or touch. It is in these times that we depend on that gift of the spirit that dwells in us, guides us, translates for us, cries out for us, and interceedes for us when we are beaten down to nothing, forced to our knees, and left powerless yet more powerfull than any ohter time in our lives, and one second for ourselves, but all for our child. Does that sound like the description of the father you read about in Luke 15?

I took comfort many times from Romans 11:33-36 where the Word says; O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgements and inscrutable his ways! "For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?" "Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?" For from Him and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be glory for ever. Amen.

Know well that Sydney and you are on God's heart. Know well from the example we have with Lazarus and his family that Gods' heart aches with yours, and know from so many proofs that God will not forsake you or leave you alone. And know from Christ's own tongue that children are very special to him as he instructed to suffer the children unto Him, a command that has the connotation of healing and comfort woven into every letter.

In Him,

Brent

Lynette,
Proverbs 3:5-6 keeps running through my mind, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight." I pray that you will be encouraged and strengthened knowing that God is before you, leading you into His great plan for Sydney's life. You have all been such a testimony of faithfulness, even when you are doubting! I thank you for sharing so transparently your struggles as well as God's amazing works! We continue to ask the Almighty to heal Sydney and to give you and your family strength and comfort as you run the race He has set before you. I pray that today will be filled with blessings and joy and encouragement! Looking forward to meeting you all some day.
Love in Christ,
Beth Meyer

Hi Lynette,
I thought of you when I read today's entry from "My Utmost for His Highest". It said (paraphrased) "A believer's life is in the hands of God like a bow and arrow in the hands of an archer. God is aiming at something the believer cannot see, and He stretches and strains, and every now and again the believer says - 'I cannot stand any more.' God does not heed, He goes on stretching till His purpose is in sight ... trust yourself in God's hands. You cannot see Him just now, you cannot understand what He is doing, but you know Him."

Dear faithful Lynette, it is obvious to all around you that you know Him well and love Him deeply.

Blessings and prayers,
Nell

Lynette, With Mother's day just around the corner I think of you and the mentor you are to us all. Marcee has shared the sweetest stories of your strength and courage in difficult situations that most of us could never imagine. Seeing your faith in God reminds me of the Truth of His Word and of His goodness and love no matter what the circumstances are. I am so touched to hear others speak of how much your family means to them and how your lives have influenced their own. I told a friend today, we have the privledge and responsibility to come beside your family and "lift up your arms" as they did for Moses when they were too heavey for him to lift on his own. He hears our prayers and they matter to Him. That just amazes me. Every day, Sydney is an example of God's healing touch. Your faithfulness strengthens our faith. Thank you! We love you ALL!! Dear Lynette,

We have continued too be on our knees for you! And have again written Sydney's name on our palms.

Your journey has been such an inspiration to us, and though prayng through tears much of the time, we have received unimaginable blessings (and joy) by seeing our Lord so faithfully answer our (and your) prayers!

This is one of my favorite hymns. Every time I sing it, I can't help but lift it up as a praise for sweet Sydney... and your family.

"O GOD Beyond all Praising"
O God beyond all praising, we worship you today and sing the love amazing that songs cannot repay; for we can only wonder at every gift you send, at blessings without number and mercies without end; we lift our hearts before you and wait upon your Word, we honor and adore you, our great and mighty Lord!

Then hear, O gracious Savior, accept the love we bring, that we who know your favor may serve you as our King; and whether our tomorrows be filled with good or ill, we'll triumph through our sorrows and rise to bless you still; to marvel at your beauty and glory in your ways, and make a joyful duty our sacrifice of praise.

Sweet Sydney and Lynette - Don't lose heart! "Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble... for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you" Deut. 31:6

"For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." Phil1:6

We will continue PRESSING on in prayer for each of you!

Love,
The Waters

"The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17

I pray that the Lord will quiet what must surely be a stressed and heavy heart with his love during these difficult days. May he give you strength for today and hope for tomorrow. Please tell Sydney that Cole Johnson (from her E-III class last year) says "hi" and that he is praying for her.

Dear Lynette and James - as I pray for you the scripture that comes to mind is Isaiah 43:1-
"I have called you/Sydney by your name; YOU/SHE ARE MINE. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, Your Savior." Scripture says "It is in the POWER of His Name and the Belief in HIS name" that we can do all things. I praise our heavenly Father that HE has healed Sydney. She has an incredible call on her life and will be such a testimony to the world. I thank our mighty God for such parents as you to remain steadfast in HIS love and strength. His promise to you is that HE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU.

Blessings to you. Give Sydney a big hug and kiss for all of us at PCS. Tell her how much we love her and how proud of her we all are.

Love, PJ and Preston

Numbers 6:22-26
May the Lord bless and keep you, may He make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May He lift up His countenance upon each of you and give you peace."

I am in Dallas tonight staying with my parents, even though their A/C went out. My Mother asked how Sydney was doing. I gave her an update and she said she would continue to pray.

More later.
