dear lynette, james and sydney, i have been forwarding all your updates to my church prayer group and we all feel like you are our best friends, and we continue to keep you guys in our prayers daily. you guys have faced more than most people face in a lifetime and with such faith and trust. sydney continues to be an example of courage and perseverance and those are two characteristics that i deeply admire, and i have learned there true definition through her. lynette and james remember that you have so many people standing in the gap for you in prayer and love, so just keep resting in the arms of Jesus and he will keep gathering people to lift you up. love from OKC

Hi Lynette, I was at church this morning and the priest was saying that in order to really follow Jesus --and not just be a fan of his,but a real follower -- you have to have conviction, courage and testing. I thought of you immediately. You have all three, but most of all courage to continue so faithfully to trust in God's will. I admire your strength and courage so much. You truly are an inspiration to me and so many others with your conviction. I will continue to pray for you, Sydney and all of your family and friends. Love, Catherine

I am a teacher friend of Becky's. We are starting back to school tomorrow and I am sad that Becky won't be there. When I heard the news, however, I was grateful that she was able to resign and be close to her family. Family has to come first. I have followed your website and continue to pray for a miracle for Sydney. I marvel at your faith.... the faith of Job. My son was born with spina bifida and had 30 surgeries growing up. He now is 27 (this week) and just moved to his first apartment. Miracles do happen! I will continue to pray for one for you. Please give Aunt Becky a big hug. I hope that I can see her again to give her one for myself. I will miss her this year; we shared a common bond, I think, for our students.

Last night Steve and I read James' entry from the 17th. Our hearts are aching and yet we stand with you with hearts of hope and agreement that God will and has restored Sydney. I looked at my Streams in the Desert (Aug.17th entry) knowing Lynette has read it often. It begins, "I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me."(Acts 27:25) Then she tells the sory of George Mueller... We are among the large audience of believers who are before the throne speaking your names to our King...We believe the fog is lifting! Love you all! Susan & Steve

Lynette, I am comforted by these encouraging words from Charles Stanley, "No problem is outside his love, wisdom, or sovereignty. God understands the present state of your life and you can rest in his sufficiency and sovereignty." We are praying for you and your family fervently! We love you and sweet Sydney. I have faith that God will restore her. Much love, Julie

Hi Lynette We are still here praying, hurting and hoping along with you. It has been a long struggle and I know you are growing weary. Thank you to James for voicing his prayer to God reflecting how we all feel at times. It is difficult to bow the knee to God's will but we believe He is in charge. I pray for a speedy resolution to Sydney's illness--whatever His will is. May the God of mercy and healing show his face to you daily.

Hi Lynette, My heart ached last night as I read James' update. Our hearts are pouring out in petitition for supernatural strength for you to persevere. As I prayed with my dear friend, Wendy, here in Florida, the Lord impressed 2 verses upon us: Romans 15:13 "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Isn't that amazing--we can be filled with joy and peace when we BELIEVE that we can ABOUND with HOPE during a time such as this--I was lifted powerfully by that truth and pray you will be, too! and Hebrews 6:19: "This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast . . . ."
An anchor in our raging storm. I picture Peter walking on the water with his eyes directly on Christ. Only when he turns to look at the storm around him does he start to sink. Keep your eyes straight ahead on your Savior and walk on that water, dear friend!
Love you! Wendy

Hi all--
I was doing my devotional a couple of days ago and when I read something, it made me think of your family. "It requires much more courage to stand and wait and still not lose heart or lose hope, to submit to the will of God, to give up opportunities for work and leave honors to others, and to be quiet, confident and rejoicing while the busy multitude goes happily along their way." I am praying specifically for courage and strength--not just for Sydney, but you and James also. Please know that while our lives are moving at a completely different pace that yours---we never lose thought of your sweet family and the challenges you face. Remeber His will is perfect and we will pray you can keep that thought above all others. Thank you for keeping us informed--it is an honor to pray for you all.
Blessings... Jennifer

Dear Lynette and James,
We lift your family up in prayer daily and thank Him for the privilege of knowing your family. I have no idea if you can feel the prayers of all who love Sydney - and your family - but please know that so many are praying with you and for you. Your witness to all of us is amazing... You're a perfect example of Isaiah 26:3.
"He will keep in perfect peace all who trust in Him, whose thoughts turn often to the LORD!"
We love you, Mary and Alex Lamar
